Nietzsche isn't some refined, revolutionary philosopher. He whines and reiterates his hatred for religion over and over. - 1.0 out of 5 stars from Irene Rose -- The worst translation ever!!! : This translation is almost thoroughly unreadable! It is difficult enough to read philosophy, but this translation makes it quite close to impossible. Some sentences have two subjects, missing verbs, objects that are impossible to identify since the subjects are in doubt and the verbs are missing. And the translator did not bother at all to try and make sense of the run-on sentences. Here is just one sentence, "Having stored a sharp eye on philosophers, and having read between their strains length enough, I now say to myself that the more a part of conscious thinking have to depend many of the instinctive functions, and it's so even within the case of philosophical questioning; one has right here to learn anew, as one found out anew approximately heredity and "innateness."" That is one of the short ones; others go on for half a page! So, if you like the language in the sentence I've quoted, by all means have fun with this translation! However, I would recommend the Kaufman translation despite its being 4 times the price. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2020 )

DO NOT BUY this version : This version appears to have been written by a dyslexic robot with its English grammar module disabled. The print version is very amateur and the most disgusting presentation I've ever seen for a book. It's what you would expect to get printed at Staples, not an actual publisher. The format is huge, with almost no margins, and capitalization is used throughout instead of italics. Where he uses Greek letters, the Greek is replaced by [GREEK INSERTED HERE], footnotes are also in brackets instead of being formatted as footnotes. ( Reviewed in Canada on September 5, 2020 )
